This is probably the ONLY surviving manuscript of Act 2 in the world.

There is another copy of this book by a copyist from 1912, both in the original and on microfilm. The copyist made several errors, but it is still wonderful to see such a book:

However, the overture and the section from the Priest’s March to the final chorus are missing.

Therefore, the editor had to orchestrate these sections himself, as the piano score is available for free download from several sources.

From the city library of the state capital Hanover comes an aria in the original manuscript of Gallus, here in comparison the passage after “Es ist geschehen, wir sind verbunden” mit “Mein Sohn, ruf die Herolde her!” [“It is done, we are connected” with “My son, call the heralds!”]
